It has a setting to bypass pulling in a Sim if one already exists with the same name, which helps a lot in reducing any chance of duplicates. If you also have it set to automatically change last names when Sims get married, though, it can still happen.

My current game has gone through 60 weeks of Sim time with both of those settings and I've not seen a duplicate yet, though. I do have a TON of Sims in my gallery, which Imagine also helps reduce the chance of that happening. And I really mean, a ton. I love to visit the gallery every day and download Sims and households that I like...and I've been doing that since the game came out without ever deleting any.

I have a lot as well haha. I am always finding new Sims and lots, and then leaving them in my gallery. I like the Maxis premades though, they add character and story to the game. They have fun little biographies. I have some celebrity Sims in my gallery and then I have some of the Sims that are very popular, but those all kind of look the same

Yah, I like the Maxis ones too. I actually download all of the additional Sim households that they put on the gallery which don't make it into the game itself. Plus I've downloaded as many of the TS1, TS2 and TS3 premade households that people have re-made for TS4 that I could find. . . and there's a lot of them. :lol:

The wonderful thing about Maxis premades is that they are rarely 'perfect,' often dysfunctional, and have wildly varying looks That keeps them really interesting as compared to what most simmers create.
