Pretty sure Sims have turned the stove off if they've left it since Sims 2.
You'd just get a low quality meal.
Nope....I had lots of kitchen fires in both TS2 and TS3.
And to some others who have replied about fires being possible.......I guess you missed the part where the stove was turned off and then the Sim turned it back on when they returned to the stove.......making an accidental fire impossible.
Sorry had to leave for awhile. Yeah, they're talking about fires happening when they're actively cooking...what you're talking about is when you cancel the cooking mid-go and the stove automatically turns off, unlike in 2 and 3 where the stove would stay on and cause a fire if you didn't get back to it in time.
Sorry, I HAD misunderstood.
I was so used to always making my Sim have that cooking trait so she'd not have fires while cooking, that I didn't realize it, and misunderstood this thread.
But, I am NOT one of those "trying to always be right" or contradict anything, or whatever.
I simply misunderstood. :s
But I guess now I know why my fireplaces no longer were catching fire.
After putting a bunch of thing on it, I thought maybe I shouldn't, cuz you know, fires.
But it didn't happen... (yet)
