Can’t vote because though I’m not excited and I’m not interested in the pack, ‘blegh’ really doesn’t cover it for me.
I kinda feel the same now. I was hyped up until after the livestream and then I noticed there's quite a few things I do not like.
Around the world, leaves fall into perfect piles.
I saw the snow "fade" around the foundation and it broke the immersion for me.
The new outfit categories are confusing, there was one for hot and cold, but Sims automatically dress into them when leaving the house. So even if the weather is hot and it's the middle of summer, they will change into cold weather clothes if it starts to rain. Now I will be forever changing outfits.
I have to delete every gnome from every lot I have ever made. From what I saw in the live stream they are OP. :'(
I am glad I didn't preorder I will be waiting for a sale
The gnomes only come to life if you use a holiday tradition involving them. Sorry you're disappointed, cant say I feel the same. If you look for little flaws you'll always find them.
Without wanting to turn this into a discussion thread and without disregarding how @vikixc feels about the pack (which is just as valid as our excitement about it), I do agree that sometimes people are very adament about finding flaws in TS4 packs. When I look at TS3 Seasons for example, apart from the snow depth, I don't think that pack objectively adds all that much more? It just focuses on other things, and it does that really really well. I love that pack, but as much as I love the seasonal festivals a such, a lot of the gameplay objects that came with it weren't necessarily all that much greater.
Sure the kissing booth and eating contest are fun the first few times around, but after that they never held much interest for me. The soccer thing was cool but hey, choices. Still, we didn't get such a deep calendar system and, with it, a way of adding to our worlds exactly the kind of holidays
we want them to have. We didn't get scouting or a deeper gardening system. And I'm not even trying to say that what TS4 adds or focuses on is better in every single way, it just suits my playstyle more. Anyway, I know TS4 has its flaws, but so does 3. And I find it a bit sad that some people are ridiculously critical of things in 4 that they probably wouldn't even have noticed or be bothered about in 3.
But, @vikixc, absolutely none of this was personally directed at you, I was only responding to the general idea that if you look for flaws you'll find them. And some people make it a sport to find and point out even the tiniest flaws they can find in TS4. But that's not to say you are one of those people. I don't know you and I wasn't intending for this to feel or sound personal at all :)
