Does the fact that you've created the aspiration mean you'll no longer continue to write books? Does completing 5 masterpieces in the Painting aspiration mean you'll no longer paint? And my favorite, The Culinary aspiration. My sim cooked the required 3 gourmet dishes at a single event yet she still continued to learn and prepare gourmet meals. She's also a spellcaster, having completed that aspiration, and she continues to cast spells and create potions.
The "base game" aspirations did not walk you through the entire base game. The aspirations in the packs since City Living have just walked you through the entire pack. There is a difference.
