Why are infants and toddlers nearly impossible to take care of?

I find infants and toddlers difficult to enjoy to play with because they are too annoying, everytime an infant or toddler Sim cries for attention the adult Sims have to cancel literally everything els...

Infants are difficult to take care of, as they are in real life.

I find it helps if I select the infant and then ask to be fed, put to bed,... If the infant gives the task, the adults obey nicely. If I select the adult to do an infant related task, they sometimes don't actually complete it.
