Although I sort of agree fullspiral, real life drudgery shouldn't really be part of a fun game - but if it is used as a personality differentiator I think little touches like that make all the difference.
The same way how a sim with a glutton trait eats their food works really well in all its grotesqueness- it becomes a great thing to spot and you know their traits before you talk to them, making them all far more believable characters. If a slob layabout jumps out of bed and strides purposefully off it sort of ruins the magic. The same way when a soul mate who is in a strong relationship with a family trait goes off and has three affairs when you leave the lot- it sort of ruins it all.
Those personality differences are there. Slob sims don't flush the toilet, they leave their plates everywhere, etc.
I just find this nit-picking ridiculous.
