Why can't sims make beds anymore?

i'm about 50-50 on the dragging items. some times i'll have the sims do it. right now, i have 2 children and 1 baby. quite often the parents are busy with other things (dad making bathtubs or OT sculptures for money or mom writing her next book). was going to have mom making bathtubs too but realized with 10 writing, she could make even more money writing books. lol
