Why cars, everyone?

In RL I'm not one who gushes over cars. I do like the one I have currently, but it's almost 20 years old and although it was a luxury car (my first Ever), I was the third owner. And since I allowed family members to drive it, it's been basically trashed. Doesn't run as smoothly as it once did, that sort of thing. Basically, the charm of it is gone.
That being said, I did like the cars in both Sims2 & Sims3. I missed the interactions from Sims2, that were sadly left out of Sims3, but given the hot mess Sims3 was due to a too ambitious game for its own engine, I did purchase the car SP. I had a very wealthy family in that game that I have brought forward into Sims4. My singer Sim had his car, that he later exchanged for a Harley Davidson style chopper. He looked cool driving about that open world on the back of it.
I'm sorry we don't have cars to own in Sims4. While the loading screens preclude a need for them in all reality, it defeats the immersion. The kids don't get picked up by the bus, either. How is my Global Superstar supposed to get about town? What, no limo sent to pick him up?
That's okay, he got literally run over by a pick-up truck in front of his parents' house where he still lives. (Hey, he just became a YA.) Too bad I didn't capture that image. At one point he and the truck became one. :open_mouth:
