Why does my Sim always need a vacation?

Every time he comes home from work, he gets that “Definitely Needs A Vacation” +3 Tense moodlet. Taking time off of work doesn’t help.

He’s a Politician, and I have him take time off via the “Take PTO” option on the work notification in the morning. Could that be the problem? Is there some sort of bug where this moodlet can only be fixed by requesting time off via the phone menu and not the notification? (Just a guess, since I’ve never encountered this issue with any other career.)

Or does he just need more time off? Is one day off not enough at this point?

  • vacation means going to granite falls or selvadorada.
    also, is he WORKING HARD? when sims WORK HARD they get tense easily.
  • Yeah, I think you have to take the time off through the phone instead of the PTO thing, mostly because the wording on the phone says "Take Paid Vacation" or something like that instead of paid time off. I'd try that, because it always seems to work for me, and I don't have the vacation packs so it's not Selvadorada or Granite Falls.

    It happened every single day with both my Sims. The mother never 'worked hard' when she had a job, but came home tense. The daughter has the 'responsible' trait and automatically 'works hard'. I think this got bugged with Seasons or a recent patch, because Sims with the responsible trait aren't supposed to get tense from working hard.

    My Sims are never allowed to take a day off. (I never do, so why should my Sims get to slack off?) They could probably use a vacation, but their master overlord is a tyrant (see previous sentence) and is more concerned with nurturing the blasted plants to 'perfect'. Besides, they do get holidays off, and the daughter has now reached the higher levels of her career and only works three or four days a week. She's got no cause to complain, in my opinion.
  • @Yardenro I don’t have those packs. It definitely isn’t that. It’s the moodlet that comes up when they want a day off work but you keep sending them to work anyway.

    @Shinzen Thanks, I’ll try that.
