Why is fame so hard to earn?

Are you using risky interactions at work? The more risky interactions you do and succeed at the more fame you'll end up getting, also make sure you get gold. My first go at the acting career i had my sim doing nothing but risky interactions and I was always getting gold at the end of the shoot and his fame was increasing fast. By the 3rd week he was a 4star celeb and I wasn't going for gig after gig, I just waited for the agency to send gigs my way.

This time around I am doing the minimum to get gold but still doing risky interactions. The fame is coming by slower but still at a good pace. I play on a semi long lifespan so rushing isn't my goal.

I've never minded that too much, as in real life you have to have a lot of viral posts or notable career moments to be truly famous. even if you're at the top of the acting field, you can still not be a household name.

I find some jobs with the active career in get to work or work at home part of the job offers little fame at all unless you go to work for the work at home and for the get to work jobs you send them to work without following them.

Yes especially with Singing. My sim is a level 10 singer and she can't even get a celeb point for it. Same with the new PC YouTube feature.

You need to use the mic or karaka machine to increase fame because though have audience and is connected to your fan base. Just clicking singing on your sim won't help you gain fame as munch because that is like singing to yourself.

It's like that in RL too. I would not be famous for playing the guitar brilliantly, if I only played it at home or learned from reading books. I would need to perform to others, on a stage, on the street, on the radio, on TV. So being a 2-skill performing on radio would make for greater fame status than being a 10-skill guitar book reader at home ;)

Not really any need for that just do the asperation fame doesn't drop that fast at all, once you do the asperation the trait will way your fame is so well understood that now it won't even decay. Now sure of the exact wording on the trait because I am not in the game.

I've lost all interest in the "fame" aspect after I created a living legend actress who never moved out of her simple ghetto-style apartment but people wigged out seeing she was their neighbor. Glad the papparrazzi left her alone and she didn't have obsessed fans running after her everywhere.

Hey, I see a lot of discussion here, but for my to cents, I don't mind it being hard to earn, but I do think the decay is a bit extreme. I guess slowing it is a reward for the aspiration, but basically the ONLY way to stay famous is if that's a sim's whole life cause you can't even take, like, a day off without it going down. Which I don't think really makes sense--even has beens from 30+years ago still get spotted and asked for autographs. Irl, once you're famous, it never COMPLETELY goes away, lol.
