It's possible that when you made changes to their outfit in CAS, the game might have automatically changed the hairstyle and you didn't notice?
I find that sometimes in CAS when I'm changing things in each category (everyday, formal, etc), the hairstyle will change as well and then I have to change the hairstyle back to the one I originally had.
