Just be glad it (hopefully) wont be a load screen, They will probably add depth in a "My First Snow Pack" add on "MeskenasBoii;c-16492702" wrote:
Not to mention there is a scene where a ground parasol during winter/snow placed outside, which doesn't even have frost on it. NOW that's very suggestive that snow buildup is a pie in the cake and can be anticipated that we aren't getting it in this expansion pack.
Actually if you pause the trailer on the first scene of snow (right as the logo conveniently blocks the view of everything) and have a good look you can see that there's not really snow on anything. The lampposts, hanging baskets, fences, chairs, bins, outdoor decorations... NOTHING has snow on it. It screams to me that not only is the snow on the roofs and ground just a paint job... there isn't any actual snow AT ALL, never mind depth.- pepperjax12307 years agoSeasoned Ace

It's not whining at all. If we're not happy with the product that's being advertised but we WANT to like it then are we not entitled to air that opinion? Don't try to shut people down for voicing their concerns. If we didn't complain then we wouldn't have toddlers and if we don't complain about this then the devs won't know how we feel about it. We want snow, ACTUAL snow; not decor. That's not asking much from a pack which is supposed to contain snow.
I don’t see this in feedback it’s in the EP section and the game isn’t out so why are you passing judgment on it when it comes out next month. Yes I consider it whining because you are never just satisfied with what EA gives you. "pepperjax1230;c-16492809" wrote:

Yeah the pack hasn't come out yet but we're not flippin blind. We can see an important feature that has been cut from the visuals. So stop acting like we don't have a right to express our disappointment with a feature in a game we love very much. We expressed our thoughts about the ball pit and guess what? They improved it. So maybe this will help bring change. Unlike you who seems like the kind of person who takes everything someone gives them no questions asked.- Eik4si47 years agoNew Ace

That is not what "giving" means. :D You can't "give" something to someone in exchange for 50 dollars (or whatever price it is in the US). "pepperjax1230;c-16492809" wrote:

Maxis has not given anything but fluff for sims 4. What is there to be satisfied about? These sims have no meaning and no attachment in their lives. Every sim plays out the same way no matter what you do with them. How is snow going to fix that?- br0se7 years agoSeasoned Ace

^^ seriously, this. Im neutral on the snow stance but lets not forget that this is a product that is being SOLD to us. Its not "given," its bought. And if it doesn't meet up to consumer expectations; that's on Maxis/EA on what to do with that.
Personally, i think this is just the nature of Sims 4 in general, whether due to performance limitations cause of the engine or limitation for business model reasons (lower performing requirements = more people with even the crappiest of PCs can buy their game), i can't say for sure. But at this point it is what it is.
But all of this "booo no whiners/negative nellies" when give it time, a LOT of folks are going to end up not nearly as happy with the end game product versus the initial hype it feels like a silly cycle.
People can criticize and complain, i don't think itll do all that much in this moment versus the ball pit mess, but you never know. "Finbar659;c-16492699" wrote:

Considering it seems to be a texture rather than snow I have a bad feeling it'll snow for a bit then boom!! Everything Is white."fullspiral;c-16492706" wrote:

It's not whining. Lots of people have said the pack looks good, the game play we have seen looks fun etc but the snow looks terrible. The sim making the snow angel from a glance at a screen shot just looks like she's lying down as you can't see the snow angel in the snow.
That is poor. People have the right to call that out. As long as it's done respectfully then people are entitled to say it. If it weren't for people giving feedback the ball pit would still look like a Google image stuck on the top. Feedback is good for this game as it is for all games.
I honestly can't see how making a snow angel is going to add to my game play. Just like watching the stars or clouds doesn't.
UNTIL they actually do something about the sims themselves, this game is a wash. Everything is fluff and there's no reason to play it.
I don't know how you feel about mods but if you are open to it try the personality please mod and some. Of the others by that user.
Without those I could never play sims 4, the sims are awful but unfortunately that only brings you that far because there honestly isn't a lot to do in the game.- filipomel7 years agoSeasoned AceSo while depth of snow seems to be gone in this version, I’m glad to see that other visual effects have been added. Has no one seen the intense winds blowing the trees? How wind effects the sims animation walking towards the wind? How lightning isn’t just a bright flash on the screen but an actual lighting effect that casts more intense shadows? The fact that each world will have unique climate patterns? They took away one detail but added many others, I think that makes up for it don’t you think?
