Why is the snow so flat? :(

So stop acting like we don't have a right to express our disappointment with a feature in a game we love very much. We expressed our thoughts about the ball pit and guess what? They improved it. So maybe this will help bring change. Unlike you who seems like the kind of person who takes everything someone gives them no questions asked.

Right now it looks like a glorified "First Snow" translation. With all four seasons, of course.

Not only is there no actual snow, in the Autumn there's no actual leaves - it's just leaf textures on the grass near trees. So you might be able to create leaf piles but not actually remove leaves.

That is poor. People have the right to call that out. As long as it's done respectfully then people are entitled to say it. If it weren't for people giving feedback the ball pit would still look like a Google image stuck on the top. Feedback is good for this game as it is for all games.

I honestly can't see how making a snow angel is going to add to my game play. Just like watching the stars or clouds doesn't.

UNTIL they actually do something about the sims themselves, this game is a wash. Everything is fluff and there's no reason to play it.

I don't know how you feel about mods but if you are open to it try the personality please mod and some. Of the others by that user.
Without those I could never play sims 4, the sims are awful but unfortunately that only brings you that far because there honestly isn't a lot to do in the game.

I'm not playing, or modding, this game til it's done. I get tired of updating, or having to update mods to fix it. And to hope that it makes it better. It's way too shallow for me to get invested in, or pretend it's worth investing in.

We totally can. It goes beyond the trailer, by the way. It's also evident in screenshots. In addition, as I have said before, the flat snow texture we've seen in the trailer and elsewhere has been the game's concept of deep snow, evidenced by snow shoveling, snowman making, snow angels, etc.

I really don't know what you have so much against people expressing concerned opinions. I might get it if there was 0% evidence over what we are saying, but actually, the evidence is overwhelmingly on our side. You telling people to not be worried/disappointed is just really off-base. What you see in the trailer is what you get. I have been a simmer for a very long time, and this has remained true all of the way through.

This thread is definitely on its way to being closed....

How delightful to see somebody who doesn't assume that there's more to come and everything will be fine.

Not that another trailer won't show us more about the pack or its gameplay - but by the time you get a trailer for an Expansion like this, it's Bug-Fixin' time and what you see is for the most part what you get. That snow is not getting any deeper. We don't even see footprints in the snow, or skate lines on the ice. They're standing on white, and that's it.

This is really a shame because the computers we're using now are so much more powerful.

I would really appreciate an explanation - was it budget or engine? I can see certain aspects about the engine of the closed world that might make it tough to simulate snow depth since you're only able to play one lot at a time, but there ought to be some way to fix it.

The ball pit was kind of a texture issue though... this would be a lot more complicated to change.

It is still feedback regardless if the product is not out yet, but that trailer is out and that is what most basing thier feedback on. For the record I do not care how much stuff EA/Maxis gives it is feedback. Just because you are happy with whatever EA/Maxis gives you not everybody is the same. Even if you think people are whining(feedback) there is nothing you can do about it.

I still hope, there are still much to reveal yet. We just have to wait. Imagine them having heavy snow that they haven't shown yet, or strong fall winds that we still dosen't know. There is so much things they can do in a pack that might have not been shown in the trailer. We will just have to wait.

And I agree about the disappointment of others, its important for them to continue doing it in a constructive, and positive way. We are all simmers, all of us want our game to improve, and these kind of feedback show us how passionate we are on the game and how we want this franchise to improve. <3 Like they said, praised what needs to be praised and criticized the things that need to be criticized for it to improve. Our feedback can make a change.
