It's not whining at all. If we're not happy with the product that's being advertised but we WANT to like it then are we not entitled to air that opinion? Don't try to shut people down for voicing their concerns. If we didn't complain then we wouldn't have toddlers and if we don't complain about this then the devs won't know how we feel about it. We want snow, ACTUAL snow; not decor. That's not asking much from a pack which is supposed to contain snow.
I don’t see this in feedback it’s in the EP section and the game isn’t out so why are you passing judgment on it when it comes out next month. Yes I consider it whining because you are never just satisfied with what EA gives you.
Yeah the pack hasn't come out yet but we're not flippin blind. We can see an important feature that has been cut from the visuals. So stop acting like we don't have a right to express our disappointment with a feature in a game we love very much. We expressed our thoughts about the ball pit and guess what? They improved it. So maybe this will help bring change. Unlike you who seems like the kind of person who takes everything someone gives them no questions asked.
We totally can. It goes beyond the trailer, by the way. It's also evident in screenshots. In addition, as I have said before, the flat snow texture we've seen in the trailer and elsewhere has been the game's concept of deep snow, evidenced by snow shoveling, snowman making, snow angels, etc.
I really don't know what you have so much against people expressing concerned opinions. I might get it if there was 0% evidence over what we are saying, but actually, the evidence is overwhelmingly on our side. You telling people to not be worried/disappointed is just really off-base. What you see in the trailer is what you get. I have been a simmer for a very long time, and this has remained true all of the way through."Goldmoldar;c-16493106" wrote:
I am not happy with everything EA puts out do I still buy it yes to give it a chance. But I also don't sit on the forums and whine when I hate a pack. I was happy when we didn't have toddlers because they are the biggest hugest pain and I have never hidden that I hate toddlers. I don't like Pets I have never liked Pets in this series I hate laundry in the sims its pointless. The Jungle Adventure Game Pack isn't really what I was expecting. There isn't enough to do in the game to keep me invested in playing all the time. Seasons is what I want but it won't keep me playing all the time again it will get boring. I have more of an advantage when it comes to buying everything that comes out because it really doesn't come out of my own money I had money saved in EA Wallet for the game. Maybe its just because I have grown to love other games that the sims isn't really that interesting when they start adding more things to do for my sims then I might come back to it again."pepperjax1230;c-16492809" wrote:

It is still feedback regardless if the product is not out yet, but that trailer is out and that is what most basing their feedback on. For the record I do not care how much stuff EA/Maxis gives it is feedback. Just because you are happy with whatever EA/Maxis gives you not everybody is the same. Even if you think people are whining(feedback) there is nothing you can do about it. - keekee537 years agoSeasoned Ace

I'm just worried that the weather won't be gradual like in sims 3. Sims 3 did a wonderful job with the various effects, like glass windows frosting and fogging over in the cold etc. And rain would slowly pick up, not start out as a thunderstorm right away. Snowfall also started out light.
Edit: Saw a screenshot and there IS frosted glass at least! yay! Loved that touch in sims 3.
Yeah Sims 3 did a phenomenal job on weather - barisaxy7 years agoRising Ace

That's great. I've also been playing since The Sims 1 days, although I can't really claim to have been active on the official forums until TS3. Either way, my point was not at all to hold my time in being a simmer over you or anyone else - it is actually to say that I've been watching the trailers and anticipating EPs for a very long time, paying close attention to what is presented and what comes out, and have thus come to understand what to expect and not to expect from an Expansion Pack after a trailer has been shown.
Every single time there are always people around telling any dissenters down, to be quiet until the Expansion Pack is released. Meanwhile, the trailer actually paints a picture of what the product will be in the end in many ways. The snow is one of those aspects. As I said, I have been through this many times. The dissenters have reason to be concerned. Let them express their opinions.
I don't agree with anyone calling this game 'trash' over this, for the record. I see both details that were lacking in previous EPs (noticeably some non-tree plants changing with the seasons, it appears even the ground texture changes with the seasons, and the tree/plant animations during the storm are really on-point, all of this very much unlike The Sims 3) but also details that are sadly missing. However, I will say that lack of snow depth is pretty inexcusable considering it was in The Sims 2 Seasons eleven years ago. It is a fair criticism, do you not see my point? - pepperjax12307 years agoSeasoned Ace

I understand your point of view but I still feel like its to early to judge about the snow over one trailer. I would be more judgemental if they showed a livestream and the content wasn't what I was expecting or anyone. Thats all. I also think that since we don't have terrain tools that people are judging it more harshly because the terrain is flat."pepperjax1230;c-16493151" wrote:

https://twitter.com/SimGuruKate/status/1000144689595465728?s=19 - I hope in my heart that in snowstorms the snow has some accumulation ... it would really be a huge relaxation for EA to ignore this detail.
I'm hoping for something positive ... I'll still complain about the lack of that detail ... "simgirl1010;c-16493301" wrote:

Thank you.- Sanriel857 years agoRising TravelerThe blame for the whole situation here lay on EA only. After so many disappointments and broken promises we learn to watch closely, because we learn, but EA... EA never learn we want only the best and not another lazy product made not to be good or satisfy us, but just to reach our pockets.

I rarely post here anymore, but was interested in seeing what the Seasons would look like.
It's unsurprising to see flat snow, to say the least.
I've said this before, and it is worth saying again when seeing ridiculous remarks like this.
WHY is it perfectly fine with people around here, to judge something before release as long as you're praising it, and posting your excitement about it, yet when people express their dissatisfaction with how something looks, they are told to stop judging it. Or, "wait until you get it" Or some other equally ignorant comment.
If you're going to tell those who don't quite like the look of the snow to stop passing judgement, then you'd better tell all those excited people to stop passing judgement or giving their opinions as well.
After all, they haven't played the EP yet either, have they.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, even posting feedback that is negative.
EA hasn't given anyone anything. This EP wont be free. People will have to pay for it. And I applaud them for wanting quality for their money.
You may be happy with white coloured flat grass passed off as snow, but clearly a lot of people aren't. - alanmichael17 years agoSeasoned Ace

Blame Sims 4 art style
I don’t think that’s it, maybe it’s to keep the specs low, although TS3’s snow covered the entire open world and didn’t seem to have any issues, I would have thought TS4s closed worlds could handle thicker snow.
Snow in TS3 caused terrible lag on my (quite powerful) PC and it had an ugly graphical glitch - holes at the edges of the streets where you could look through the ground. I really hope TS4 brings some improvement.
