I don't really mind that the premades don't have any ancestors and stuff like that. The only exception I'd make are the Goths because they always had a graveyard on their lot in all prior sims games, and not having it this time feels...weird. What I really dislike however are the relationships as stated in the family bios not matching up with their actual relationships in the game, as other have already said. The Pancakes are a good example, they're supposed to have an unhappy marriage, but their bars are relatively full in the actual game. The problems stated in their bio don't translate into actual gameplay, which is just lazy. The bio of the Fyres family also indicates that Morgan and Siobhan don't get along with each other for being in rivaling clubs, but they're friends in the game like any other pair of siblings at the start. It seems like they just created these families, plopped them into the world and wrote those bios without even trying to make it authentic, which is just so lazy. In TS3, when a premade family's bio stated that they don't get along or have problems, it showed in the actual relationship panel. Like with the Landgraabs, it was stated in the bio that Nancy didn't have time for Malcolm because she was too busy with her job, and it actually showed in the relationship bar that Malcolm had a better relationship with his father. Those are just small things, but it makes the premade families more fleshed out and authentic, not just like some random sims put into the world without any further thought put into them. Back then, I liked playing premades for their backstories, now in TS4, I don't play any of them unless they're a significant other or close friend of my own sims, simply because they feel the same as my own sims with the disadvantage of not being my own, if you know what I mean. I have no reason to actually play them because I could just play my own sims and it would be the same, but better.
