Why is there no effort put into pre-mades’ family trees and ancestors?

In previous Sims’ games (especially Sims 2) The developers made a lot of effort to show characters’ heritage and backstories. I loved reading all about their upbringing, family trees, memories etc but...

I create parents and grandparents for some of my Sims.
