Why is there no effort put into pre-mades’ family trees and ancestors?

Yeah I really wish there was graveyards ion TS4. Partly for the ancestry and partly because the ghosts were mad cool. I do really dislike the fact that the families all die out after one generation because there's no continuity. It's either you dedicate a bunch of time to adding your own Sims in every generation or you allow the houses to be filled with random townies. I like with TS3 where I was able to be friends with multiple generations of Sims. It made it seem like more of a community tbh.
