Why no glimmer stone for my Mage toddler?

So, in preparation for the new High School Life expansion pack, I decided to play a sim from toddler up to just before transitioning to teenager (So I would have one ready to go to explore the new pack with, when it comes out. So, create a mother in CAS, normal sim, all well and good. Then I created a Mage sim, aged her down to toddler, got everything else set up the way I wanted it to be, and went and found them a nice house. Bam! Done. Right?

No. For some reason my Mage toddler does not have a glimmerstone in their personal inventory! I have played born in game sims who were Mages, and when they aged up from baby to toddler, they would (normally) have a glimmer stone in their inventory. But my made in CAS Mage toddler doesn't! And I've done this create a mother and toddler in CAS with the toddler as a Mage, twice now, same results!

Can anyone tell me what's going on, and how to fix this? Please!

    I think the making her in CAS and aging her down is where the toddler probably lost it. When she ages up to teen, she can go ask the sages, but she'll have to go there like a "normal" sim.

    A possible way around it would be to make another spellcaster in the household, but leave them as a teen/adult (they don't even have to be related) and then have them give the toddler their glimmerstone as a friendly gift. Then split them from the house and release them into Unplayed Households Not in World. Other than being an acquaintance of the family, they will be off to do their own thing.

    Another small recommendation I have is can you play with genetics and create a child sim in CAS? They might or might not be a spellcaster, but if they are, you can take the stone from that one?

    She won't have to ask to be turned into a spellcaster. Just ask one of the Sages for a new Glimmerstone. I somehow lost the glimmerstone of my spellcaster once and was able to ask one of the sages to get it back.

    Just without the Glimmerstone already, she can't teleport to the magic realm
