WHY? WHY? WHY ?

I noticed after this last patch that my sims hunger goes down crazy fast, too. And then they cook and won't eat. It's annoying.

My boy sims always age up to be super skinny no matter what the parents look like. My girls are always balloons. It's rare that I get a normal size anything so I have to use CAS to fix them. I know how they're supposed to look and I don't play with all perfectly skinny sims. I have a wide variety. But all the kids age up exactly the same. Girl toddler are extreme fat, boy toddlers are extreme skinny and they follow that same path all through life.

It happened to me too. I don't care much for the look of my sims but i did add a mod for that because i wasn't getting vareity, just fat sims over and over again...

The secret is actually very simple - eating more than you need to contributes to sim getting fat. In game it is represented by their hunger meter. Once this meter is full, Sim will start gaining weight form any food they eat. Consider food a simple sustenance and eat only as much as you need and this probelm alleviates itself VERY noticeably. I don't use mods. I use standard aging and don't age up babies early.
Two things I changed:
1. I have been having my characters exercise more often at all ages, like a very active character will go jogging or use workout equipment once or twice a day, a lazy one will exercise once a week or less, and the others in between. Anyone feeling energized will do a few situps or something. Characters are allowed to play with soccer ball, basketball, pool when they feel like it. Kids get to play on monkey bars or jungle gym a few times a week. I notice also that townies are more in shape now than in my first couple of games, too. I've heard that townies tend to follow the habits of your played sims to some extent, maybe others can confirm. I'm currently farther into a legacy than I have been before (gen 4 is teens) and have yet to encounter the plague of "pear-shaped townies" that people describe. The townies are a nice variety of body shapes and sizes.
2. My toddlers eat normal food and harvestables now, no more quick meals. That happened mostly because I got tired of high chairs, but these toddlers do seem to grow up in better shape. I wonder if all those quick meals maybe added up to being overweight? Quick meals can have that effect on older sims.

Or it could just be that this was adjusted in a patch somewhere along the line. Is your game fully updated?

The kids are very active. All of them finished the motor aspiration and level (10)

I do not want every Sim of mine to grow up to be a supermodel, I want a varity in apperance and looks among my Sims, thin, chubby or normal it is all okay. But I do try to stop them from eating unhealthy

My earlier generations of my main save were like this and then over time it has become the opposite issue. My play style has changed in that time too... it has been over 30 generations and 5 real-life years... but I don't think anything related to food and fitness has changed. It's quite interesting and I wonder if some tuning was changed or mods I use affect it.

I'm having the exact opposite....my sims only need to eat a meal a day...it's off putting. I've also noticed that energy goes down extremely slowly. I just finished a play session and my sim was awake for more than 24h, the energy bar seemed to take too long to get to the red. She woke up at around 9-10 am and stayed up the whole day, all night and the next morning doing outdoor activities and only at about 16pm was the energy on red. I'm actually thinking of getting a needs decay mod because they just don't seem balanced at all.

Interesting because my hunger is going down extremely fast, my sims need to eat about 4 snacks throughout the day plus the 3 meals they have to eat if they're home all day. And my energy is going down a little more fast, but not that extreme. I noticed that my elders absolutely need to take a nap during the day or they won't make it and the ones that still work are coming home exhausted. Most of my sims now have to have at least one nap during the day and they are doing it autonomously. I thought it was a mod problem, but I took them out and it's the same in a vanilla game, too.

Does anybody actually know what food is best to feed toddlers and children. I've read that only feeding toddlers from the high chair is best and I've also read that feeding toddlers from the high chair is bad for them. It's so confusing.

My sim and her husband are thin, the twins were thin as children. They both aged up, max weight. My sims children have always been poor, one meal a day, either faux BLT from mom's work, or garden salad. Let them eat at school, too, maybe the school feeds children foods that are bad. One twin constantly motor, the other was lazy, but they are the same... Can somebody tell me how they gain this weight, in place of removing it. I don't care for cheats, PS4 achievements.
