Will A Modified PBP Studios Prevent Award Show From Happening Normally?

I ask because this is a brand new game save. Yes, it's still got the Trait Hottest Place in Town, so that can't be the problem. Once, the Host took up a full hour and a half at the mic babbling on about something, yet when she stepped aside, as if the winner was expected to take the mic, there wasn't even so much as a dropdown notification as to who won for what. Face/palm. Now, the few Sims who were on the premises when my Sim got there are gone. No Host and it's after 7 PM when the Accolades begin at 6 PM. I just exited without saving. This is intolerable.

I did so very little to change the first floor of this build. I changed out the wallpaper to that fancy black with gold veins on it. I changed the flooring to black marble, and I built a rectangular platform with a smaller one on top to elevate this Event. ;) I put in some more stylish chairs for the attendees to seat themselves and there is room for them to walk in front of the platform to seat themselves in the front row. The older, now defunct save behaved okay. But, the first Sunday Accolades were given in the new save a whole total of three awards were handed out! Three. That was it.

  • My award shows happen in a completely different location, so modifying alone should not be a problem. I think that the platform might be causing routing issues in your case.

Well, in my former save things worked well, and that was after I added the platform. I suppose I can go back and delete it, but it, or maybe make the larger one even with the front of the smaller one?
  • I agree that maybe your platforms are causing routing issues. It may be better to have just one instead of two of them because the area is a bit small. My lot for the awards is completely changed, so that shouldn't be a problem.

If you really want to keep your design as-is, maybe leave it for another award show and see how it goes. The issue could be a one off thing.
  • I'm using a completely different lot for Studio PBP that I downloaded from the gallery and renovated it. Mine also has a platform, but just one and it's only one notch up so my sims didn't need stairs to get on and sims can be able to watch from the floor. Like others have said, maybe the two platforms are causing routing issues. I think as long as it's close to the entrance, a clear way to the stage, and enough space on stage, there shouldn't be an issue.

Thank you. I opened a 'new' save (wishing, once again that we could bypass CAS) so that I could upload a copy of the original PBP. Just to check the theory out. I can always go back and add just one platform if I wish, since the Oscars are handed out on a stage which the winners must climb a short set of stairs to get to. I have been to the Pantages Theatre wherein they used to be held. If any of you watched the Oscars back in the day, that red carpeted area is really a scummy alley, when not given the "Hollywood" treatment. LOL But the theatre, itself is something to behold.

I wanted to do a game repair, but I can't find out how on the Beta origin, which I'm having a love/hate relationship with at the moment. I would do a game folder refresh, which is still a possibility, but I, too, am curious about a one-off scenario. Does a Sim have to still be on the rise to be recognized? I don't wish to fabricate stories of his success. I would much rather document what does happen in my game. But, I have run this course before and he never won a thing. We'll see. I just hope I don't end up profoundly disappointed, yet again.

I just got back into my game and sent Erik down to the PBP. Seems I uploaded the original one yesterday, but failed to replace the one I renovated. I did take a quick moment to remove the bottom platform. I got the notice 'to roll out the red carpet the Accolades are ready to start'. (Or however it's worded.) No Host has shown up and it's now 7:27 PM in the game. Face/palm. I think I'll exit w/o saving so I can see if the last minute removal of the bottom platform is to blame. What I plan on doing is to fix the platform before I enter my Sims' household and then see if that makes a difference. If not, I will exit w/o saving again and replace my renovated version for the original one and try again. I am about to chew nails (as in the ones you hammer into place, not the ones on the ends of my fingers, just to be clear). Color my cheeks red. I just didn't recognize that a Host was on hand. Given that nobody stepped onto the platform, but rather a small group crowded around Erik, busy playing the violin since things hadn't started, I didn't recognize a Host was there. The same fellow in a tan suit didn't show up when I got back into my game. Instead, Lily Feng did. I kept Erik in his seat, this next time, so as to not unwittingly interfere. :open_mouth:

ETA: Erik was just outside of the PBP doors when I got back into my game again. My changes were already in place and although he won nothing, Lily Feng, the Host seemed on the irate side. She did, however, fulfill her contract and gave out four or five awards in all. I decided to save. Erik isn't being recognized. Ho-hum. I've gone down this path before.
