Will current worlds ever be bigger?

Ok. A lot of topics, a lot of requests, and a tons of questions but no answer from SimGurus. Lets check what you think about my question than. Will current worlds ever be bigger (will have more lots)?

  • I suppose I misinterpreted the question when I voted 'Yes'.
"Will current worlds ever be bigger?"

I'd have to say 'No' to that, the current worlds are finished, but there have been add-on worlds already, so every new individual 'world', makes the overall 'world(s)' bigger.

How did you get 394 main lots. I only counted 203

Actually I counted each apartment building as 1 lot in San Myshuno, so 18 total 'lots'. But if each apartment was also included in the count as a 'lot', then Culpepper would be 4 instead of 1.

That being said, if adding this way, San Myshuno would have 26 main lots instead of 18 'customizable main lots'.
Interesting looking at this, San Myshuno is almost on par with Windenburg for the largest world if you take each apartment into count as a lot. But Windenburg also has 3 special lots. So I'd say Windenburg is by far the 'biggest' current world so far. :)

(Keep in mind by 'main lots' I took parks, libraries, museums, bars, etc with residential and empty into sum of customizable main lots.)

(I don't have Evergreen Harbor, so minus my 15 count if you like.)

Very interesting list. Thank you for making it.

    I would list them as
granite falls: 6 lots (5 rental and one park) and one secret lot (the hermit)
Selvadorada: 7 lots (4 rental and 3 community lots) and one special/secret lot (the temple)

Aha! That's where I messed up.
I counted them as separate than "main lots" since you can't make them residential. But you can make the park a rental (or something else) in Granite Falls? Interesting. I suppose you can modify all of them to what the world allows. Selvadorada also.

So technically what I called "rental" should be 13 instead of 9. ;)
But the 3 'secret' lots in Selvadorada are modifiable on the world map after discovering them? So brings the 13 down to 10. :D

I am also still missing the 3 special lots from get to work, the work locations : the hospital, police station and science lab. Not sure if they fit with magnolia promenade or deserve a separate entry but if the film studio from get Famous counts, then so do they. Edit: same goes for my favourite hidden lot : sixam.

I didn't count those since they are 'off-world' lots. I've never been to Sixam yet, though.
If included that adds another 4 lots to the total. :)
I know the science lab, hospital, and police station are modifiable when a Sim is working there. But of course you can't change it's venue.

Those lots you can select and edit from the map view are essentially all the same. Just go to manage world, select the lot and edit them. You can set them to any type you want, rental or any regular community lot. I just tested it and successfully turned the park into a rental lot. This is the same in both vacation worlds.

I am not sure about the 'secret' lots in the jungle, the ones you can travel to through the gates. Some gates give loading screens (e.g. royal baths) , some don't (e.g. plane crash site) .
I have the impression that without a loading screen the jungle is just a large neighbourhood environment you can walk through. Just like the realm of magic where you can walk through portals but gameplay wise your sim does not leave the lot. But I have never tried to edit anything on those lots.
  • Current big worlds are big enough and should remain as they are. Forgotten Hollow and Glimmerbrook could use expansion, though. 2 or 3 lots to each would greatly help IMO.

    Doubt it.

Consoles will never be more powerful than the PCs. They will have to keep that in mind when making worlds. This is another reason why my expectations are low for Sims 5.
