Will Preferences be behind a paywall?

Hard to say. I am not even sure we are getting preferences at all. I assumed sectional couches were paywalled and saw some articles stating so as well, but here on the forums I have seen a number of people stating they will be base game. All in all, no one really knows until the live stream.

I doubt it. They’ll probably just have a few preferences that are exclusive to the pack like architectural style, and all the other will be patched to the base game.

If it is paywalled, then I’m going to be very annoyed. Likes/Dislikes have been Base Game in ALL other sims games. This would be a new low for the Sims 4.

Yeah, but sentiments were basegame.

If we get to choose them and change them in CAS (at least in full edit mode), then they better be base game. That would be awesome.

If they are going to be randomly assigned they better be behind a paywall I can choose to not pay or come with a toggle.

So I will stay conflicted on the subject until we find out more.

I think it'll be base game, with a few interests exclusive to the pack. Favorites are something that aren't necessarily tied to the pack, and would benefit from being expanded upon in future packa.

But who knows? If they end up being locked behind a paywall, you jlcan just wait a couple of years and they'll patch it into the base game, or throw it on another pack that's lacking content.

There is the thing.. what is included in basegame. For me there are things I do not ever wanted, like faster eating. But there it is, basegame update. FORCED one.

Why I keep getting annoyed when everything "should be basegame" .. what If I do not want to have it??

I think it could be a basegame feature but with packs adding categories? Furniture style preferences make sense with the GP, possibly colour and hobbies too, but music makes no sense with an interior design theme and is likely BG.
