Will Preferences be behind a paywall?

No, I didn't want faster eating either. But I would like preferences. I think :D

I really hope they're base game as I'm hoping for an attraction system in the future which would use preferences. I wouldn't mind if it was like lot types, where quite a few are tied to the pack but the system in general is base game.

Since additional trait slot is in free update I think at least part of Preference system will be in base game. In trailer we can see preferences about color, décor style and hobby? (gardening sign). In blog they've also mentioned music genre. So, probably, music, color and hobby will be base game, but the style one is pack exclusive? (would make sense for me).

Also and it's a pure speculation (has no valid support from any source) what if this weird out of place scene in the trailer about family reminiscence is a hint at memory system and this will be pack exclusive... 'Cause well you know there must be something just anything in this pack besides the freelance exclusive to the gameplay department...

I reckon you are exactly right.

I was just looking at the 'accidental leak' announced by simsvip where the new slot in CAS is labelled as likes and dislikes.

If it's true, this will be a totally awesome addition. I hope is has many impacts during gameplay and with autonomy.

It could be like the lot traits that came with City Living. The base game update will include some basic likes and dislikes, and DHD will have quite a few more.
