Will Sims brake up if they catch their partner cheating?

So I have not tested this yet. In past games if you came home and caught your partner in bed with the maid your sim would freak and kick them out. Dose that happen in Sims 4? I feel like it dose not. Most likely my sim would not even notice...
  • I've a question in a similar vein to the OP's. I've heard people here on the forums refer to having their sim in S4 confess an affair. Is this an option on the dialogue wheel, or just something that has to be imagined as happening? Because I've never seen it as an option.

I think it's just creative story telling. In my save this past weekend I played out the caught in the act scenario, but prior to that there was never a social interaction for confessing.

Well, while my sims were in Selvadorada, the wife was in a flirty mood and decided to flirt with one of the locals. Her husband was just close by, and he had a "be jealous" interaction in his queue. Then he got a +3 angry moodlet (which was buried under a bunch of other moodlets at the time) and their romance relationship bar took a small hit. I imagine it would be worse if she did more than flirt.

If they have the jealous trait they'll walk over and slap the spouse/significant other while using forbidden words, if you have Parenthood. Without the jealous trait they don't have huge reactions really. However, having the jealous trait can make just talking to another sim cause a reaction where the jealous sim gets very upset.
  • No, not without mods that will allow for them breakup autonomously. Sims can however autonomously ask your Sim to go steady from time to time, but not to break up without mods.

  • One sim girl I play with has the serial romantic aspiration, and one of the tasks is to have high romance with several sims at once. I sent her to the pool one time with her new guy and I hear crying in the distance and negative friendship and romance is going over her head. One of the other men in her life was there, I didn't notice him beforehand. This is the strongest reaction I've gotten.
  • The worst reaction I've ever had has been an angry moodlet from a sim's husband cheating on her (presumably with her sister from the date invitation I got later) at her cousin's wedding that wasn't even enough to shake her out of her happy mood. Mind you, that was probably just a bit of mild flirting as there wasn't much of a romance bar and whatever it was had already stopped by the time I saw the moodlet (I wasn't playing that household at the time because hey, cousin's wedding. I'm playing the cousin.)

    no its not an option
  • The worst time extreme jealousy has befallen a couple was when I had a Sim and his rooommate Woohoo in the bedroom closet where his SO was sleeping! Even though the SO was sleeping, they knew what had transpired and was both very sad and very angry for a good two days, and when they woke up, preceded to autonomously slap the unfaithful boyfriend and it was a very tense and awkward household for that time. The boyfriend had to stay just friends with their roommate after that debacle lol.
