The leaked screenshots from Simscommunity clearly show a new city world. I am super excited to get a new city! But I can't help but wonder whether this city will have apartments. It would be weird to not have apartments in a city world, but if apartments are added, it will probably be recycled from City Living and this might upset CL owners. I highly doubt it this is a celebrity pack for rich Sims who live in the "Hollywood" hills not apartments.

Penthouses don’t have any new gameplay to them. They are flying lots with fx buildings bellow them so I wouldn’t rule fhem out of question when putting them in another ep.But I hope it’s just expensive hollywood hills houses.

I don't think so, it looks like the city will be in the background and the playable and buildable areas would be like the hills that look over the city. A very Hollywoodesque vibe. If as I imagine, the city will be just a background, I plan on pretending it is San Myshuno and the this new world is for the San Myshuno upper class/celebrities

Makes sense. But for me, they are not real life locations, I like to think of the sims' worlds as their own. That's why is so easy for me to connect them.

SM is based off of San Francisco I think.

I think it will not. Many fans bought city living because of one of its major features. Apartment. If that feature was bought in to another pack then City Living will lost a major feature that is unique to it. I do hope that the pre-ep patch will include buildable apartments. That would be nice.
