Wondering How to Get Your Sim Abducted?

I haven't had an alien abduction in my game for quite some time. In this save, several of my Sims like to use the telescope. Sometimes to 'spy on the neighborhood', but mostly to study the stars. This time my Sim had the option to Search for the Truth. Yes, it's late evening, in fact it's passed 2 AM. Suddenly, I heard a noise. and I see that familiar beam of light. She's going to have something interesting to tell her fiancé when he returns from the concert he's giving. "How did you spend your evening, Sweetheart?" "Oh, just getting up close and personal with an alien or two, or three. A whole slew of them! I thought they would never let me go. I think I'll just go lay down for awhile."

So, I would suggest if you're really hoping to have your Sim get abducted you have them Search for the Truth in the dead of night, or those wee hours. Might not happen every time, but it wouldn't hurt to try. I do know that most abductions happen late at night. And for the record, nobody in my full house is a Scientist.

If you have any more suggestions, please add them.

  • To me they seem to come in waves. When I did the Eco Lifestyle trial, my sim was abducted four times and I wasn’t even particularly focused on aliens since they aren’t connected with that pack. That was the first time I had a sim getting abducted at all.

In my current save, which I’ve being playing since September, my sim has been abducted somewhere around 15-17 times (I lost count around the 11th abduction), and seeing as the save just started out as a test save for Cottage Living my sim was just doing mundane things like taking care of some chickens and various plants. I didn’t even make an effort to go to Alien Night at the bar, but my sim still managed to get acquainted with a handful of aliens which is what I assume triggered the abductions. However, since the end of February the rate of abductions have slowed down a lot with only one or two of them having taken place since then.

Edit: Edited to add that none of my sims had been abducted prior to trying out Eco Lifestyle.
  • In a pinch you can always shift click for alien abduction
Otherwise best I've found is walking a dog at night for a random encounter that has nothing to do with a career or telescope or even skill
  • As I stated previously (I believe), my first Sim in Sims4 to be adducted was one of my Pinstar's Legacy Challenge heirs. He was out late having been to the local bar. Before he reached home, he was abducted. However, he was older and not able to become preggars. So, instead, his heir was abducted just moments before his wedding. I quickly canceled out the interaction and then berated myself for possibly ruining my chance for a pregnancy. Happily, not. Both bride and groom were preggars at the same time, only he gave birth several hours after she did, when he got pregnant, first. :open_mouth: After that, the aliens kept picking him up. He refused to give the twins up. Once they abducted my ghostly Founder. The family was, in general, harassed for a time. Then it just stopped.

Several game saves later, adding up to a year or better in real time, a Sim got abducted. But it was a female.

Edited to Add: At that time there were no scientists in the family and no special anything to attract the aliens. That's what made it so special. I did nothing to have it happen. :)

@GalacticGal Yes please I agree, tweak it back!
And add an object or lot trait instead for those who don’t want alien invasions or any other occult beings entering their lot. Like “realism dwelling” or something.

(My opinion still stands on don’t buy the pack if there’s an aspect in it you don’t like, my biggest mistake was buying Vampires but I never asked for them to be nerfed I just blame myself for wanting the bb items and not thinking before I bought it)

Edit: I also really want an option for the specific sims like celebrities, vampires, mermaids to stay in their worlds or atleast for celebrities to use the undercover option when they are out walking. Also Father Winter, pls dude only show up at yule and stay in your workshop for the rest of the year.

I 'divorced' myself from wanting the said items. I never liked vampires in any of the packs. And while I can't say I'm a full-on realistic player, sometimes enough is too much. I avoided both witches and the vampires in Sims2 &3. I was so very grateful when only the aliens were in the Seasons pack and the Occults got their very own pack. Easy to bypass that way. I'm terribly sorry you're plagued by them. I was under the delusion if you don't have a Sim read up on them, your Sim wouldn't encounter them. So glad I trusted my gut and didn't make the purchase.

I do avoid reading about them to avoid having them show up at my door. What bugs me is seeing like Caleb as a vendor in Sulani, the most sunny place of all worlds.

Wow. I don't suppose there is a way to make a vampire sun-proof, is there? Could be he's got special abilities.
