Given the quality of the modding/CC community, hell yes. Out of all the aspects that the modding community touches, there's only one thing I wish they had access to and I'd be in heaven: easier animation creation.
Money is a great incentive for them to keep making things. Every modder I've seen making a respectable amount of $$ via Patreon usually updates within hours-1 day.
