I do like to support certain CC/modders that make quality stuff, but majority of these in that are 'conversions'. In which I already paid for. Looks good yes and very nostalgic to the Sims 2 in that style, but I'm not about to pay for pretty much the same stuff with the same meshes. That and I can see that going down the toilet for creators and fans alike.
If managed and organized correctly and mostly helped along by the Sims team? Maybe.
If not, creators aren't really under any kind of obligation to 'fix' things. There's even some on paetron that put out such subpar stuff and the people that follows them is completely fine with bad quality. (Wonking meshes, incorrect LODS, items too high in poly count and they don't try to downsize it, CC fit for only one sim body type, and taking meshes from other creators like IMVU and SL)
There's a few fanmade packs constributed by some creators to make for a good pack for free, which I can really appreciate. Rustic Wedding Stuff and the Garden one and had a lot of things and sometimes even more to match an actual stuff pack.
