Keep in mind everytime Maxis reworks the code - all the user made content will cease to work. Why would I pay for that - content sure to keep breaking - with no guarantee it will all get immediately remade and reissued?
That is the problem with CC - plus the fact Maxis does not share certain locked code - so paying for it is foolish for one and secondly it is against the rules of the TOS as the meshes etc all belong to Maxis as well as ANY content made by anybody for any of EA games. Everything made for an EA game belongs to EA period so selling the products is technically stealing - whether it is CC or mods or tools - or anything to do with EA's games. It is all there in the TOS (Terms of Service). Whose to say if one day Maxis?EA decides to enforce that rule about making money off of their products? As they definitely can.
