I'm thinking a lot of limitations, and the Sims fanbase would not approve, hency why I think it was scrapped. Despite Sims 4's current state, I'm glad they did not push for an MMO gameplay.
Sims was once pushed in a social mmo direction: The Sims Online, it was not well received.
