I don't know about this. I have reasons for it, and reasons against it.
It's funny though, how some that think there is too much religion in the world already, or don't believe anything at all, (which many players feel this way) want traditional weddings in the game, want the game to represent real life, but don't want what goes on in real life to be in the game. Well, people have been believing in something since time began.
Whether that was their idol, a star, a rock or a person. I personally would hate to think is this it? is this all there is? omg, if it is I might as well hang it up right now.
I felt the TSM represented two sects, the Catholic Church and the Baptist faith, one was fire and brimstone teachings or sermons and the other was peace and love and grace by faith type sermons. I thought it was pretty clear to me.
I don't know if it is a good thing or a bad thing to put this in the series, but yes, Sims got a moodlet for a lack of faith in the game. Actually, I prefer TSM's moodlets to TS3s they mattered more. And were quite humorous much more than TS3's.
But it is funny some don't want any kind of organized religion in The Sims, but humans can be 'religious' about anything to the point it is their god, so I don't get it.
But they want the game to be very factual and realistic. Well, realistically speaking, humans need something more than themselves to believe in because that is how they were created. :P
And yes, though some of the parody could be a little bit insulting at times, it is only the Christian and Jewish religions you don't have to worry about insulting so much and not worry anyone is going to come after you. That's one reason you can't make fun of other religions it's an insult to death.
And btw, though I'm not Catholic, they have fed and clothed more people on this earth than all governments combined.
And what are you guys talking about? The worship of Elvis is a religion.
