Idk why but I've always wondered why only the teens can have part time jobs. I'd kind of like it if I could a create slacker-y sim, for example, who wastes his young adulthood stuck in a part time job. Or have my sim parents be able to switch over to a part time schedules when they have kids. With the self-employment feature, we could even have our sims combine the security of a part time job with their first business venture / attempt to become famous, etc. What do you think? Would anyone else enjoy having part time jobs for adult sims in the game?

I think it is a great idea. It is probably really simple to create the code which enables adults to work part time jobs. They were allowed to in sims 3. I was thinking it would be great for mothers who have children: they may work while the child is at school.

Yup, part-time jobs would be great. (Didn't we have 'em for retirees in a previous version, or am I mis-remembering?)Many of my custom-careers will be part-time.

Yes -In the past I always liked part time jobs for some Sims - so yes I'd love them back for all sims teen and up..

I think there’s a mod out there that lets you stay in the lower level of a job without being promoted, so that could work kind of the same way for certain jobs.

They'd be good for sims that are already well-off and don't constantly need to make money. Then, I could have them focus on other, more important things instead.

Yes, particularly part time jobs that aren't the typical 9-5. That way I can play one parent as the breadwinner working 9-5, and one who stays home with the kids all day, then works part time in the evening to supplement their income.

Well with self employment coming you could register your sim as a gamer and play all day making money winning tournaments online. That's pretty slacker to me.

I would like to have my wealthier Sims only work one or two days per week. Once they reach max career in some careers they only work three days, but not in all of them. I like having them own/run restaurants or retail stores at that point sometimes, and it can be a bit much if they also have to work 4-5 days, and sometimes kind-of long hours along with the store/restaurant. If we could choose to work part time instead of full time and still advance &/or be at the top-tier of the career, that would be great!
