No distracting banner images, no ads, just "here, this is where you load a game or start a new one, or change some settings." This is all a main menu ever needs to be and all most of them are in video game history in my experience, which is a formula that has never had any serious problems I can think of apart from not being a marketing splash page to push product... which, I realize, is why it isn't just a simple menu and why it is pointless for me to complain about it because they are going to insist on selling product over what is enjoyable to use, where they feel it's necessary and where they can get away with it. It's just nice to vent a bit about it being annoying.
