I want hobbies to make a comeback. Where Sims will have default interests in particular hobbies like they did in sims 2.

Sims need their personalities more fleshed out. Bring back favourite food and radio station along with star sign. Turn ons and turn offs. In fact the whole traits system would need a complete overhaul (but that will never happen) as there are too many filler traits that don’t really mean much.

Look at how Parenthood did traits, Sims gained traits based on how they behaved. That’s the way some traits should be handled. You should pick core personality traits for your sim that actually affect how they behave and make them more distinct and then the rest should be learned as they live life.

For example if they spend lots of time with their dog they should “learn” the dog lover trait. Or if they spend time tormenting children and speaking negatively of them they should learn the “Hates children” trait. If they fight sims and insult them all the time they would get the “mean” trait and so on.
