[1.118] Inventories, fridges, bookshelves all empty on loading household

Hi all,

We've confirmed that the newly reported issue of items disappearing from inventory is related to outdated mods. To resolve the issue, please update your mods & load a previous save of your save file to recover your items.

today i updated my game turned on my mods and loaded into one of my family saves and i realized that all of my sims inventory items were pretty much gone, all that was left was some upgrade parts and a camera, i had wayy more items in there. this also happened to the fridge, toy box and a bookcase, everything was gone!! i played for a little bit (bought my sims their items back to their inventory) and after reloading the game the items were gone once again. how do i fix this? i cannot play the game like this im really disappointed!! i play on pc

I have had this exact same thing happen just now. I have also noticed any paintings that were done on the easel by my sims (I have had the artwork for 8 or so generations) has now been replaced by a frame and a grey blank canvas. I did exactly the same as you and looked in the fridge, toy box and bookcase. Even my sims homework has gone walkies and I can’t replace it! I remade a whole fridge of food and theb when I reloaded it was all gone!!!

Here to report the same issue, working through possible fixes right now, if I find anything I'll comment again.

Same!! I fixed everything and then saved only to reload the game and it all be gone AGAIN. With or without mods, doesn’t matter, I’ve tried it all, including backup saves and repairing the game. I’m very upset.

  paige2296 Removing the mods won't cause personal inventories to return unless you load an earlier version of your save. Also, please double check that you're removing mods from the right place and don't have a duplicate folder complicating this. See https://sims4.crinrict.com/eng/2018/07/how-to-find-your-user-folder/ I also had a player the other day who'd had a mod-manager program put an old copy of MC Command Center -- which is causing this problem if not updated -- back into their Mods folder. So double check!
