Please do this exact one-new-mod test:
- Drag your whole Sims 4 folder from Document > Electronic Arts to your desktop and rename it.
- Run a Game Repair in the EA App. (If you use Steam, the equivalent is Verify Integrity.)
- Launch Sims 4 and exit.
- Download one script mod to test. I recommend getting XML Injector from the Scumbumbo mod site for this, because I know the file is fine (I help maintain the Scumbumbo memorial site) and because it includes a test file for making sure it's being seen in-game.
- Start with New to test if your issue recurs.
