With the help of another Simmer, I was able to put my old save back into the new game, and it worked fine! So it's not my saves that are corrupted. What else do I need to transfer from the Sims 4_old file? Also, what do i do with that sims 4 _old file? Do i delete it or just let it hang out?
You can now start to copy back things from Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4_Old to the new Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 folder that was created.
Since you already put your saves back, you can skip that step.
Then put back the following folders.
- Tray (your households and lots you have saved to library)- Custom Music (if you added any)
- Screenshots (if you've taken any)
- Videos (if you've taken any)
- ConfigOverride (if you made any although I recommend redoing those)
- Options(.ini) (although I recommend to just redo your settings in the game)
Now test again. If that still works, you can put back your mods. Put them back in groups and make sure they are still compatible with the game.
All other files are recreated and not needed.

Perfect, i found the mod that was causing issue. I'm not sure why it didn't work before when i took my mods out. What do i do with the Sims 4_old file now? Leave it or delete it? Everything you mentioned has been copied into the new sims 4 file.

If you moved everything over and have everything you need. You can delete the _old folder, yes.
