Can I humblebrag for a moment? 😏

I am someone who thrives in an organized space. I present my Mods folder.

I am quite happy with the way I've organized it o:)

I will admit there isn't a lot I'm proud of personally, but this.. I am.

Yeah I figured other simmers would have more! Well done keeping it organized!

Last screenshot of my Mods folder. I reorganized about a year ago. It's always been neat and tidy but I keep trying to find even better ways to do it. So far this has been working for me but definitely depends on how much you have. I've been trying to stay minimal with how many mods I have. The urge is strong to grab everything when I look at Bienchens or LittleMsSams variety of mods.

I thought everyone put their mods in folders like this? If not, no wonder people get so overwhelmed whenever there’s a patch and updates are required. Sounds frustrating otherwise.

Plenty of simmers don't read mod descriptions and get upset when the mod does exactly what it's supposed to. They throw it all into their mods folder and ask others to tell them what's broken on patch day. Or they aren't aware mods break and need to be updated. I understand being new to it all but the information is all there in the description including patch updates.

I was inspired by this very handy YT video oshinsims made: (Clean Mods Folder + Tips on Organization @ 9:35)

  • Nice! There's something very satisfying about a well-organized mod folder.

I'm not at home right now, so I can't post a screenshot, but after downloading quite a bit of fanmade stuff for my game, I figured it couldn't hurt to organise it somehow. And I find it interesting how we all have our different methods of going about that.

My mods and cc are sorted into folders, not by alphabet or creator, but by type: Male CAS, Female CAS, Children's CAS, Backgrounds, BB items, Pets, Mods, Children's mods, etc. By "Mods", I mean anything that may need regular updating, so it's good to have it all in one place, and I don't have so many that they'd require separate categories. I do have many children's mods, though (like one that enables them to use magic), that's why there's a separate folder for those. But most of my fanmade stuff is CAS cc, as you can probably guess from the many folders.

Ok, y'all are putting me to shame! ?
Seeing this level of organization makes me so happy, I have to say.

ETA: It is cool to see how different people choose to organize their mods. For me, when it comes time to update I find going by creator just speeds the process along much quicker.

I actually have CC in a whole separate folder too. I should organize that folder even more!
