Can mods cause problems after being removed?
So I have a bunch of issues with my game, and new ones keeps on showing up. Some of those have appeard on completely mod free game folders, while others have appeared on modded saves, and game folders. My question is, if an issue appearing in a modded folder stil persist after removing the mods, or even copying the save game to a mod free game folder, could it still be an issue causes by a mod, lingering after the mod is gone, or does mod gone, prove that it’s an actual game bug?
I’ve never ever in my entire sims 1,2,3 and 4 career experienced a mod actually ruining the game even after it has been removed, so I just need to know if that’s even a possibility. The amount and seriousness of the bugs I’ve had in this game lately is just so disheartening, and I just want to find out what is causing it, so maybe I can fix it, or in the very least avoid it in the future.
Okay, so I know its been a long time, but in case someone ever find this with the same issue I found out the solution accident. A while after this post I was desperatly planning on somehow to copy the sim without copying it (because that didn’t work), by adding all the siminfo from my problem-sim to a new one, hoping it would be the like the same sim. And as I recorded my sim details in preparation I found something weird.
Anyways here is the solution:
So it turns out that my problem-sim had the trait: trait_hidden_IsEventNPC_challenge. When I deleted that trait, all the problems went away.
You’re going to need mods to do this. I beleive I used either MC command center or toolbox.
I have no idea how or when my sim got that trait. And I assume there are others as I’ve come across other trouble shooting posts where sims have had weird NPC traits like baby ariel etc, so I’m guessing that there are other traits that may give similar issues as well.
