Can't follow teen to high school with HSY

I just bought the HSY expansion, I have mods but I have gone as far as completely disabling all mods and CC and testing it with 4 different sims and I STILL can not follow any teen sim to school. I don't understand why it's not working. I've tried reading through some of the related threads here but I don't know what else I can do. Everything else from the HSY pack seems to work fine except for this one feature. Someone please help because I am extremely disappointed in my purchase by not being able to follow my sims to school. ☹️

    Try the following

    • Close the game
    • Rename Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 to Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4_Old
    • Start the game. All your content will be gone now as the game created a new folder. All your saves/.. is still in the old folder so not to worry
    • Start a new save game
    • Check if you still have the error
    • Report back with your results for further steps on how to get your stuff back.
