Can't use CC eye color?

Since the patch I can't seem to use CC eye colors. I've tried two different ones and it won't let me change the color when I am creating Sims. There are no color boxes at the top of the eye window to change the color. I am able to use the default Sims eyes and change the color but not CC. What gives? I really want to use CC eye color, I don't like the ones that come with the game. :(
  • S-Club eyebrows have been noted to stall game start-up. Can't remember exactly which ones, but something with a 5, from what I can recall. GOOD LUCK!

It is because of the patch CC and mods are messing up.

What? I'm so confused... My default eyes work fine. I even played around in CAS last night not to mention playing my games like normal and the eyes show up fine.

I am aware a lot of mods are messed up right now but didn't know it effected normal CC. Must be only some defaults are effected.
  • Often CC and almost all the time mods require being patch matched in order to work. It was the number one reason why I stopped using CC and mods after Sims 2 - as Sims 2 only required CEP and Simpe updates to new patches - but Sims 3 and Sims 4 require creator updates to mods and some CC in order to work. It is why the mod folder needs to be removed to properly update the game without issues, then only replace CC and mods after the creators have either said it works or have updated, and you redownload the updated versions - other wise the game will have corruption from the mismatch. In sims 3 mods always needed to be updated - but CC was usually okay as long as it was not default CC or what is called modded CC (like face plates etc) but it always was so hard to remove from Sims 3 any CC it was just not worth all the work to have it in a game in the early days when there is always bound to be a lot of patches. So I just never bothered any more in Sims 3, and wouldn't even consider it in Sims 4 where I know there will be tons of patches. It's a lot of hoop jumping just to have a mod or CC and have to constantly have to keep redownloading and reinstalling it or have a broken and often buggy game because your content does not match the patch level and changes made to the game everytime something is fixed or changed. You want CC and mods and want to make your game work properly - you will unfortunately have to keep it all up dated.

Edit - you can help all the creators know which CC items need a patch update if you are willing to test every single one for them and let them know something is either breaking the game or not working right. That way they can do something about it quicker. ( Hints on what most needs updating by creators - any default replacement and mod will all need an update and any item redone and offered in a patch, will also need and update if you have a like CC item in your game or something made off a mesh that Maxis recoded or worked on - like the fixes for cabinets and any CC paintings)
  • I just discovered this problem in my GTW game as well. I deleted my cc default set of eyes, hoping all eye colors would appear and they don't. Thankfully I have some cc eye colors to use under face paint, but those take more time to apply
  • Hopefully it is a conflict with Maxis content - if that is the case Maxis may be able to make a patch so the game content does not override your CC. It may be as simple as adding an override to the mod folder so that anything in there will override the game defaults.
  • @aaronrulz, this is how to fix it

here is how to fix it... go to Sims 4 Studio and download it. Here's the link http://sims4studio.com/thread/562/introducing-love-edition-sims-studio

Load the studio and bring up the cheat window in the studio but holding down Control+shift+c when the cheat window pops up type in "restorehumanity" without the quotations. While the new patch fixed the alien shirts over CAS, it didn't fix the default eyes. This will fix your problem for you.

I just fixed my default eyes in this manner as the new patch didn't fix it
