CAS not loading from gameplay

I want to edit my sims in CAS but it gets stuck on the loading screen and I have to constantly turn my laptop off and back on again and it’s making the game basically unplayable. 

It will just have the Plumbob spinning for over 15 minutes before I eventually give up and turn the whole thing off. 

I’ve updated all of my mods but it’s still happening. 

How do I fix this because CAS is a huge part of gameplay for me and without it the game is pretty much useless
