Check Your Mods!

From what we've seen, infants will affect a lot. And I mean, a LOT.

We always say to check your mods nowadays, but this time, it's really important. Infants aren't just a new kind of life like Werewolves; they're a whole new base-game lifestage, like Toddlers! Even some of your BB and CAS may break. The Devs are certainly not obliged to make sure your base game is compatible with Basemental.

That's the first thing people will always ask you upon finding a bug. Have you checked your mods? The big ones will doubtless be up and running within a few days. It's fine, it's all fine.

Same! I am excited for this patch, but not excited cause I know a lot of the mods I depend on are going to be busted for a long time.

I just play offline for a week or so, until all the EA patching is done and the modders have finalized their updates. This way I only have to update my game once and my mods once.
  • one that will break for sure is the better pie menu. Since a update for pie menu is in the patch. wish i could play offline ea app won't run the game if offline.

Yes it will, I play with it offline when I play. You only have to be online to use the Gallery. Just use the sandwich menu in the upper left corner when you open the app and select "go offline." You just have to remember to do it every time you open the app because once you close it, it automatically switches back online.
  • I'm just going to pull the entire folder and play vanilla. I'll remove everything, mods and cc. I never touch my long running saves until mods have been updated. When we get big patches like this I just start a new save or a tester save to play around with while waiting for updates. I made a whole new family just for the new EP so I'll have them to try the new features out with. Well, all I'm waiting on with them is for the patch so I can add an infant to their family and they are good to go.

I don't anywhere near my long running saves until mods are updated. It's pretty much a given that lots of things are going to be busted and it's just not worth taking the chance.

There's gonna be two things for Modders to fix. The Infants update, and the Growing Together install, which depends on whether you install GT or not. So people with GT may have to wait a bit longer before putting their Mods back in.
  • I've been talking with modders. Please assume that you're going to be playing vanilla for a while. REMOVE YOUR MODS. This is a big, complex patch. It WILL break many more mods than usual. It WILL take longer than usual for modders to test and update mods.

Plus, after the update and install there will inevitably be bugs, (There always are with ANY game). Obviously Modders are going to get to work instantly, deciding what needs changing, but even then there will be patches and hotfixes that will alter things.

I am trying to come up with ways my Rock Star can earn his money. He has licensed only seven of his twenty-two written songs, so he does get royalties, but without the mod, he isn't earning royalties on his eight released albums. No worries, I can kaching the 6000 he earns. I also know how often he gave concerts and went on photoshoots, plus was asked to sponsor songs, digital books or a brand and for how much. Kaching will have to do. I've restarted this save so many times in the past, I can no longer recall the number. Not going to let a patch I've longed for get in the way. ;)

Thanks for the Heads-Up! the original save (game folder and all) are copied to a Flash Drive and the Mods folder is out on my desk top. :)

Check, check and check. As always, thank you for being on top of things. You're the best.
