Hi @kingeli99
The best idea is to remove any mod that is at all game-changing and add them back slowly, testing your game each time, mod by mod. If only a few that is.
If it's still playing up, a cull is necessary, ie: take all mods and cc out, adding them back folder by folder. or 10x10 approx) if you don't use folders and don't have many..
Using folders, to keep everything more sortable, is by far the best method in the long run, as when game updates happen, or you add a new pack, it is easier to find broken cc or mods.
That is, use different folders for 1: types of cc, 2: game mods, 3: aspirations or 4: careers at the very least, I also use custom folders for mod makers when I use a lot of them, again, easier to find when you need to update or check your game.
I'd recommend the 50/50 or cull method to find any broken mods
- Remove the mods from your folder to the desktop
- Delete your localthumbcache file found in your TS4 folder [Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4]
- Repair game, by right-clicking the cog near 'play'
- Run the game, to see if it runs ok, now without any mods/cc
- note: use a vanilla / new game for this process, don't run your old one
- Now, if all went well, try transferring one cc folder at a time. This helps narrow down which is broken.
- Trying the game each time, you do the process.. to see if it loads & plays as expected, without issues
- Before starting your game each time, also delete the localthumbcache file from the sims 4 folder
With each new patch, many mods are updated and will require checking up on them all.. More tips at my post here, here on maintaining your game, including more instructions on the 50/50 method.
- Apart from culling your folders one by one, or the 50/50 method, to narrow down the broken cc or mod, that is all you can do, (restarting and checking your game each time) you'll simply need to find the broken mod/cc it and remove it
- I also use Sims 4 Studio for batch fixes, as it solves a lot of problems in bulk (but not all.) It's also available for Mac. And is updated frequently, with pack relevant bug fixes.
