Disappearing Custom Careers/After-School Activities if Royalty EP installed

Careers are disappearing after the "noble" tag was created and the Royalty and Legacy pack was released. This seems to particularly affect modded careers, such as the ones by Midnitetech and KiaraSims4Mods. Sims will have a career one moment, and then the sim will suddenly be unemployed. This happens in real time while the sim is being actively played. Sometimes it appears to be triggered by the sim traveling to a different lot and sometimes it happens completely randomly. This happens whether or not the sim has the noble tag. In fact, in most cases where this has occurred in my saves, the noble tag was not present.

Many (not all) custom career mods, school/education mods (school career), custom after-school activities, and complex mods that include careers are incompatible with Royalty & Legacy after patch 1.122.

The same set of mods that, for patch 1.121 in February, broke the SimPicker and that were not themselves updated for this problem are now, based on testing, presumed broken if Royalty & Legacy is installed.

Symptoms: A known symptom is that the career (etc.) is dropped when another Sim in the household travels within the neighbourhood and then control is switched to the custom-career Sim or another Sim with them who didn’t travel. No last exception error is produced.

Workaround: There is none. Installing Lot 51 Core Library does not bandage over this issue. Creators will need to update their mods to resolve this. Creators in the Creator Musings Discord have discussed how to do this.

qwiaeocmeorwa Did you have Lot 51's Core Library installed when this happened? Specifically version 1.39 (February 16) or later.

It very well likely may be the 32-bit and 64-bit change. I'll inquire more on if it's happening with non-modded careers. Thank you!

is it happening with unmodded careers ? If it is, it's best to make a report for that career without mentioning mod careers but I'm checking with a CM.

If it's an EA issue just affecting modded career they will need to decide where they want it.

My assumption is this is an EA glitch and not a modding one but I don't know for sure.

Yes, I am hearing from many after the new R&L update that careers are disappearing. There was an issue with the 64 bit to 32 bit but Lot51 put out a hotfix. But it seems many are still saying careers are disappearing at random.

I'm trying out the Education Overhaul mod for the first time today to help my Sims manage their huge family of soon-to-be 7 kids. Everything was working fine for many hours of gameplay. My toddlers go to preschool every day with no issues. My child Sim was accepted and enrolled in the boarding prep school.

Everything was working perfectly until my Sim left the home lot. When she returned home, the kid was back home even though she should have been at boarding school. I couldn't find a "go to boarding school" manual option anywhere on the kid, phone, or computer so I used the mod's built-in cheats to send her back to boarding school.

But she still wouldn't go. She'd change into her uniform and leave the lot temporarily but reappear back home a moment later. When 7-8am rolled around, the game tried to send the kid back to boarding school on its own but the same thing happened. She'd leave the lot for a couple seconds, then return home.

I left the lot and reloaded but that didn't make any difference. How do I keep this friggin kid at boarding school? I sent her to boarding school because she's annoying, ahahaha. Help me get rid of her pleaaase. 😅

My game is fully updated (November 4th, 2025 patch) and I am 99% sure the mod is fully updated as well. I didn't see it listed on the November 4th broken mods list and I just downloaded and installed it last night directly from adeepingo's website. I installed all the files so nothing should be missing and I have all the required packs for each file.

I know the boarding school feature is new and experimental; I read the mod description and notes and everything so it may just be buggy because of that but I'm still hoping there's some kind of workaround solution.
