- I can't imagine not separating it into subfolders.
- Yes, it needs to be sorted into folder to reduce the chaos.
You start out thinking that you'll only get a bit of CC, and before you know it, you've downloaded half the internet. - Yes, super useful to have everything organized. I also rename files so I know exactly what each one is.
Another thing I do is add a picture of each CC item in a certain folder. One of my favorite CC creators Michelle does that for all her Sims 2 CC and it makes the folders look visually really great :) "Brindleton;c-16650410" wrote:

These are good practices. I go so far as to separate mine into categories, and then subfolders within the categories for the site or creator of the CC.- ClassicalSim1Seasoned NewcomerI put all mine in folders labeled with the name of the mod/cc, the name of the creator, and the site where they were downloaded. It makes it so much easier when I have to update them after patches. I never did that in TS1, 2 or 3 and it was a nightmare trying to figure out what each one was when I had problems.
- Nope, it's all a pure chaos in my mods folder. I once seperated them into different folders, but all cc and mods in the seperate folders were not recognized by the game and so I thought this isn't even possible. But after reading that others always do it, I'm very confused why it didn't work for me back then.
- icemanfreshSeasoned NewcomerI don't have too many CC pieces, so I just have broad categories like CAS, Mods, Poses, and BB.
- Yes, I personally separate them. So I have a cas folder inside my mods folder. Inside my cas folder, I have a hair folder, clothes, accessories, defaults etc... that's how I, personally, set up my mods folder
- Yes, that way ill know what i had download in case i get broken cc i know to find it and get rid of it without get confused once was like that just put everything just mod folder leave it ugh to messy.

In the first year or so of the game the resource.cfg file in the Mods folder was not equipped to handle sub folders unless you manually configured it. Now it has been updated so it's no longer a problem.
