Extremely Limited Social Interactions

I've been playing Sims for years, and I do have a lot of mods. Since the most recent patch, my sims have EXTREMELY limited social interaction options with anyone. This is universal for all sims- I've tried many households and dynamics. Images attached of what it roughly looks like- mostly gift giving is the only option and showing off one's pet. Object interactions are normal. I've removed my mods multiple times and my CC and nothing has changed. I repaired the game twice, deleted it and redownloaded it entirely, and have deleted my cache about five times, all to no avail. I'm not sure what to do, I really miss playing the game but it's basically not useable for actual gameplay besides building and CAS, which are also working normally! Is anyone else experiencing this? Does anyone know if maybe it is a mod I've overlooked somehow? I've been trying to fix this for a week.

The menu looks normal at first as you can see, but when clicking on any type of interaction you only get these weird few things.

  • @bbyxmimi The most common non-mod cause of this is your actual game files needing some repair by EA. You can do this via the EA App with a Game Repair. If you use Steam instead, you can verify files through Steam. If you have a last exception file from when this happens, I'm happy to have a look.

@luthienrisingwould I have to repair with everything still in the folder. Because I have repaired by making a whole new game file and whenever I added my saves back into the game the problem happened again

  • @bbyxmimi I'm not sure what you mean by making a new game file? Game Repair doesn't affect your user folder at all. It fixes your program installation.

Hi so I have already done all that, when making the clean folder the social interactions worked but the minute I moved my save files (only my save files no mods no nothing) the issue happened again. Once my save files were in the game, I thought it could maybe be just that save but when creating a new save the issue was still there

  • @bbyxmimi Try loading an earlier version of your saves, and doing a Save As. Also try with *only* that save in the folder. I can't, though, think of any mod I've seen that would cause this to happen when it's been removed. If a "save as" doesn't clear it and it happens on any previous save, I'm happy to see if your save does the same thing for me. • Hi!

Exact same thing is happening to me! I’ve tried everything that the commenters said and I got to the conclusion that my save is broken. I’ve checked my mods one by one, none of them seemed to be the issue. Not only that, if I start a new game, I don’t have this issue and everything runs perfectly.I’ve tried moving them, because sometimes the lot will bug your save, but still the same. Maybe its just that its too big of a save and it’s bugging? It’s my 7th generation, been playing on the same file since 2022 and I really don’t want to discard it or start over… I’m a long time player (since 2017) and I’ve known how to overcome all bugs or broken saves until now…I really don’t know what to do and it really breaks my heart, I’m emotionally tied to this legacy!😭

  • @zeddira Try this:

    1. Drag your whole Sims 4 folder from Document > Electronic Arts to your desktop.
    2. Launch Sims 4 so it creates a fresh user folder.
    3. Exit and then copy your old save files from your old folder into the newly created one
    4. Launch Sims 4 and see if this has solved your issue
