Fear not showing up in Traits

Product: The Sims 4
Platform: PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Not sure?
What is your current game version number? The latest one {just double checked it didn't need to update}

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Just play in live mode for a while I guess?
What happens when the bug occurs? It pops up that my sim has descovered a fear of the dark, but it does not show up in their traits...they are always afraid to go outside now because of it. Even if they go jogging and 11 in the afternoon on a sunny day it pops up...can't get rid of it with the fear begon reward because it's not in their traits!
What do you expect to see? I expect to see my sims fears show up in their traits if they are gonna have them not just be something that I can't get rid of, even turning wants and fears off and on does not help
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? No
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? I've never had it happen before now, even though I have have had some fears that would stick around before. They always showed up in their traits so I'm pretty sure this is from the last update

    I don't know why your Sim had issues without having the trait in the first place but she def has a commodity (these are kind of hidden timers) about it. When the timer runs out, she gets the fear.

    The potion seems to be still bugged. It only gets rid of the trait and nothing else so what you need to do is actually resolve the fear,

    Do the following steps

    1. Re-add the trait with the cheat as before
    2. Wait until you get the fear resolve want.
    3. Buy a confidence potion
    4. Go outside in the dark and drink it.
    5. The fear should resolve for good.

    She does get another commodity this way that lasts a while and I've not played until that runs but the fear of the dark commodity is also gone so I'm confident it should resolve your issue.

    Please report back. You will probably need to play for a while to be sure.

I also had the invisible fear, but of swimming, my Sim was born in game and actually loves swimming, he met a dolphin in the sea when he was younger, so didn't make sense, he kept getting the buff of being afraid but no trait showing, so I equipped as you said to above and then had him use a confident potion to swim for an hour, and now he's all good, says he conquered his fear! :D He kept getting the buff seeing the neighbour's pool out the window so it was really annoying lol!
