Game does not load after December Update (2023)

Hi everyone,

I need help.

Since the latest update, i can not load any households. I click on them, it loads for a couple of seconds, then I'm back to the choose-neighborhood screen

I have tried the following so far:

repairing my game in the app (multiple times)

taking out the save folder and creating a new save ; same problem

I have updated all mods right before starting the game for the first time after the update

I have tried with mods disabled

I have tried renaming my save files to load an older save

i have updated my nvidia

all to the same outcome. Does anyone experience the same problem after the latest update?

    Try the following

    • Close the game
    • Rename Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 to Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4_Old
    • Start the game. All your content will be gone now as the game created a new folder. All your saves/.. is still in the old folder so not to worry
    • Start a new save game
    • Check if you still have the error
    • Report back with your results for further steps on how to get your stuff back.
