Game launches to black screen

I stupidly updated yesterday (17.03.26) did the usual removed my mods folder and save file, had ALL the issues everyone else experienced. Waited for the patch today (18.03.26) did the same process and removed mods etc. Updated then removed mods I knew were affected, updated those that were updated today (MCCC & UI Cheats) and kept my CC in. Multiple start ups, 'failure to launch on our end...' then the game will load straight after. The initial Sims4 screen loads but coming to the loading screen to resume game and the screen is just black. I then remove my CC and it loads to resume game loading screen. I am currently repairing my game and yes, before asking, I remove all cashe files. What else do I do?!!! I have over 2000+ CC and some scripted mods. I thought today's patch was to resolve the issue with CC?

Not sure if the same for you.  But, my black screen was caused by Weerbesu's UI Cheat.  I updated his mod and mc command centre as well - and then was able to launch the game properly.  Not an expert by a long mile, but if you have any UI mods - ensure they are up to date - with the latest hotfix patch.  I'm sure a true expert will come back to you.

Hey, please help!

I have done the update today (to fix the cc/mod issues).... but now my game won't even start. It either crashes directly or will show me the loading screen and then just pitch black with the music playing.... Just a plain black screen, nothing else. Have force quit and restarted several times. I've tried repairing the game via EA app and deleted localcache. Help! Thanks

I just removed all gameplay mods with just my cc and the lashes removed after the hotfix update and it got to this. I am so frustrated ughgh

Try to update your UI mods, it normally will works again

For me I can confirm that my black screen was caused by Ui Cheats.  He even says it on his website.   It says - 

v1.53 [03/18/2026]

• Updated for game version 1.122.212. If you've updated your game to 1.22.212, be sure to remove any old versions of this mod as they will cause a black main menu screen.

I had this issue too. I have around 2000 mods/cc, once I removed my "main menu background"-mod it worked. :) 

When I log in now the main screen is black ☹️

My screen literally just goes black when i have my cc installed, i tried without and it works fine so idk if i need to update a mod or something.. help :(

this is BBB - tmexi related, i believe
